Best LLM SEO Tools (2026): 10 Tools for Tracking AI Visibility
By the PNext team · Updated 26 October 2026
A year ago, “is ChatGPT recommending us?” was a question you answered by typing prompts and taking screenshots. Now there is a whole category of tools that runs those prompts for you, every day, across several AI engines, and tracks how often your brand is mentioned and which pages get cited.
We use a mix of paid and free tools to track AI visibility for ourselves and our clients. This guide covers the ones worth knowing about, what each does well, what they cost to start, and how to pick one without paying for features you will not use.
- ✓What LLM SEO tools actually measure
- ✓Eight tools compared
- ✓Free options you already have
- ✓How to choose the right one
- ✓How we use them in practice
What is the best LLM SEO tool?
There is no single best tool. Otterly.AI is the cheapest way to start tracking prompts across AI engines, Peec AI and Profound suit teams that need deeper competitor and citation data, and Ahrefs and Semrush add AI visibility to tools many teams already pay for. Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools and GA4 cover the free basics.
What LLM SEO tools measure
Most AI visibility tools work the same way. You give them a list of prompts your buyers might ask, such as “best accounting software for small businesses”, and they run those prompts on ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Overviews and others on a schedule. Then they report:
- Mentions: how often your brand is named in the answers.
- Citations: how often your pages are linked as a source.
- Share of voice: how you compare with competitors on the same prompts.
- Sentiment and position: whether you are recommended first, listed among others or described negatively.
- Source analysis: which third-party sites the engines lean on for your topic, so you know where to earn mentions.
One thing to keep in mind: AI answers vary from run to run. A single result means little; trends across many prompts over several weeks are what count. We cover the measurement side in more depth in how to measure AIO results.
The best LLM SEO tools in 2026
Prices change often in this category and roundups disagree, so the figures below are the starting prices reported in several October 2026 roundups (for example Rankability and SEO Stuff). Always check the vendor’s own pricing page before you buy.

Otterly.AI
The simplest way to start. You set up prompts, it tracks mentions and citations across the main engines, and the entry plan is cheap enough to test whether AI visibility matters in your market at all.
Peec AI
Strong on competitor comparison and source analysis, so you can see which sites the engines cite for your topic. A good fit for agencies managing several brands.
Profound
Built for larger brands, with detailed reporting across many engines and markets. Overkill for most small businesses, but thorough.
Ahrefs Brand Radar
Adds AI mention data to Ahrefs, so you can compare AI visibility with your backlinks and organic rankings in one place.
Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit
The same idea for Semrush users: AI visibility next to the keyword and position data you already have.
Bing Webmaster Tools
Its AI Performance report (still in beta when we checked our own account) shows how your content appears in Bing’s AI experiences, which also power Copilot.
Free LLM SEO tools you already have
Before paying for anything, set up the free basics. They will not tell you what ChatGPT says about you, but they show what AI search is doing for your traffic.
- Google Search Console includes clicks and impressions from AI Overviews and AI Mode within your normal web search data. Watch for pages whose impressions rise while clicks stay flat.
- Bing Webmaster Tools has an AI Performance section. It is worth checking monthly, especially in markets where Copilot is common at work.
- GA4 shows visits referred by chatgpt.com, perplexity.ai, gemini.google.com and copilot.microsoft.com. Create a channel group or exploration that groups these so you can follow them through to leads.
- A manual prompt log. Twenty prompts, run once a month, recorded in a spreadsheet. Low-tech, but it builds the habit before you automate it.
How to choose an LLM SEO tool
Which engines do your buyers use?
Good answer: If most of your customers are in offices running Microsoft 365, Copilot matters. Consumer brands should prioritise ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews.
How many prompts do you need?
Good answer: Entry plans often cover 15 to 50 prompts. Start with the questions closest to a purchase decision rather than hundreds of informational ones.
Do you need competitor data?
Good answer: If you mainly want to know whether you appear at all, a basic tool is enough. If you need share of voice against named rivals, look at Peec AI or Profound.
Can it show which sources are cited?
Good answer: This is the most useful feature for strategy, because it tells you which sites to earn mentions on.
Does it fit your existing stack?
Good answer: If you already pay for Ahrefs or Semrush, try their add-ons first before adding another login.
Can you export the data?
Good answer: You will want to combine AI visibility with GA4 leads. Check for CSV or API access.
How we use these tools
For our own site and for clients, we keep it deliberately simple: a fixed list of prompts tracked monthly, GA4 AI referral traffic, and Search Console and Bing data side by side in one dashboard. When a prompt we care about stops mentioning us, we look at which sources the engines cited instead, and work on getting onto those.
The tool is the easy part. The work is improving the pages and earning the mentions that change the answers, which we explain in how to get cited by ChatGPT and what generative engine optimization is. If you would rather hand it over, that is what our AI SEO agency team does.
Want to know how AI search sees your brand?
We will run your key buyer questions across the main AI engines and show you where you appear, and where competitors do instead.
How we compared these LLM SEO tools
We looked at four things for each tool: which AI engines it covers (ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot), whether it tracks prompts or keywords, whether it shows the sources each engine cites, and what it costs to track a realistic set of prompts every week.

A tool that tracks how large language model search engines such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews mention and cite your brand, by running a set of prompts on a schedule and reporting the results.
Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools and GA4 are free and cover traffic from AI search. For tracking what the answers actually say, most dedicated tools are paid, though several offer trials.
Entry plans reported in October 2026 start at roughly $29 a month, with mid-tier tools around $85 to $250 and enterprise platforms costing considerably more. Check each vendor for current pricing.
Clicks and impressions from AI Overviews and AI Mode are counted within your web search performance data. There is no separate AI-only filter, so watch trends on pages likely to appear in AI answers.
Monthly is enough for most businesses. AI answers vary from day to day, so look at trends over several weeks rather than single results.
No, they measure. Visibility improves through better content, clear answers, structured data and mentions on trusted sites.
